Prizes for the best speleological art executed in any visual art medium, except photographs, and including drawing, painting, print-making, sculpture and textiles. Up to five entries per person.

2. Linda Cregg (Way Out) won a trip for ten people into Clearwell Caves to collect ochre pigments and an A2 portfolio case donated by Robin Gray

A new award - the St Cuthberts Prize for Best Art on Paper went to Rhian Hicks (Catching my Breath) who won a pack of Waterford Watercolour paper donated by St Cuthberts Mill.
A Gallery of Wit for cartoonists. All those who venture into the realms of humorous drawings are invited to exhibit the product of their imaginations.

Competition co-ordinated by Clive Gardener, Judged by Tony Cook, Clive Gardener, David Webb. The winning entry was screened at the closing ceremony. The winner was Sid Perou and Martin Baines (You bet - its a daft idea) who received a boot bag from Daleswear and 20m of rope from Inglesport.

Competition co-ordinator: Juan Corrin. Contestants must survey a course outside the conference building. The survey data is processed on a computer and the winner is the team that manages the loop with the smallest misclosure error.
Seven teams entered, with misclosure errors ranging from 0.5% to 8.9%
1. Peter Clewes and Jenny Corrin (0.53% misclosure) won a Silva M2 headlite and a £30 voucher from Paul Mann.
2. Becka Lawson and Julian Todd (1.81% misclosure) won a six-person-night stay at Wessex Cave Club, two tickets to Wookey Hole and a £20 voucher from Paul Mann.
The SRT competitions were, once again, organised by Mark Wright of Access Training Services Ltd and took place in the main trade hall throughout the weekend. SRT training sessions were also on offer. In addition to the competition prizes, the first six people in each competition were entered into a 'winners league' with a substantial prize
